Essay Topic – Refugees in Japan


Summary:

Students learn about the status and treatment of refugees in Japan. Then they write their opinion in an English essay. In Lesson 4 of the Mainstream English 2 textbook (2nd edition) students learn about Sugihara Chiune and how he helped refugees in WW2. This essay topic builds on that theme. There are two double sided worksheets which can be done in two 25 minute classes or one 50 minute class. Suits intermediate or higher level classes.
